Manufacturer optimism rises at highest pace for two years

UK manufacturers are more optimistic about their business situation and exporting prospects, while reporting strong growth in domestic orders over the previous quarter, according to the latest quarterly CBI Industrial Trends Survey.

Hydrastore and Allison Hydraulics merge

DCA Group companies Allison Hydraulics and Hydrastore have merged and will now trade under the Hydrastore banner. Allison Hydraulics’ stores in Birmingham and Washington Tyne and Wear will be re-branded Hydrastore, while Hydrastore’s head office will remain on the Sandtoft Industrial Estate in Belton, near Doncaster.

Professor of vacuum science conferred as an emeritus professor of the University of Huddersfield

Professor John Colligon has been conferred an emeritus professor on his retirement from the University. Professor Colligon received a First Class Bachelor of Engineering degree at the University of Liverpool in 1958 and went on to complete a Degree of Doctor in Philosophy within the Faculty of Engineering at the same university in 1962.
