Newly extended Moduflex valve system
Parker has introduced its newly extended Moduflex valve system, a range of valves designed to conform to any application requirements. Available configured from basic components or as a pre-assembled and tested valve island, the valve system can be adapted simply once specified.
Electro-hydraulic actuators deliver improved safety at India’s tank farms
Following an accidental fire at the IOCL Jaipur Terminal, an extensive review of safety measures recommended by the MB Lal Committee has resulted in the introduction of failsafe actuators for critical tank farm applications. These valves, known as ROSOV (Remote Operated Shut-off Valves), now provide tank overfill protection at the majority of storage facilities owned by the Indian oil industry.
Top ten tips – oil analysis

With between 70 and 80 per cent of all hydraulic failures caused by contaminated oil, effective analysis is vital to ensuring the healthy functioning of machinery. Bosch Rexroth outlines its top ten tips for maintaining oil quality.
New valve offerings from Webtec

Webtec, the Cambridge (UK) based hydraulic measurement and control company, has launched a brand new range of hydraulic high-pressure, near zero-leak directional control valves specifically designed for use on marine and offshore hydraulic control/power units. Typical applications include drill rigs, deck machinery, lifting equipment and grease injection units.
Bowman launches ‘high tech’ end covers for hydraulic oil cooler range

UK heat exchanger manufacturer, E J Bowman, has introduced two new material specifications for the end covers on its hydraulic oil cooler range.

Stationary cooling systems with low noise emission

The noise emission requirements of equipment and systems in traditional applications are growing. Cooling systems are no exception to this trend. Following the efforts made in optimisation, new coolers have achieved notable success in noise emissions.
Sterile process connections from Stӓubli

Stäubli Connectors Division has introduced a new design of connector that permits sterilisation of the flow stream ‘in situ’ and prevents disconnection without prior decontamination.
Brammer forges Grundfoss partnership

As part of its commitment to providing customers with a broad range of quality maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) products, supplier Brammer has entered into a new partnership with Grundfos Pumps Ltd., with an extensive range of pumps now stocked in its centrally-located National Distribution Centre (NDC).
Precision pumps designed for robotics
Due to the movements of modern robotics with the requirement of both ‘reach’ and ‘rotation’ to complete the programmed task, weight and size are critical.
Emergency stop regulations – a hydraulic solution
As well as the obvious moral and economic reasons for avoiding accidents, there is a raft of legislation and regulations designed to make products safer.
New high flow servo valve from Star Hydraulics
Star Hydraulics has launched its new 902HF 3 stage high flow servo valve. Having developed the use of sapphires into its range of servo valves to limit wear and improve performance the company has now introduced this new 3 stage valve.
Affordable UV LED flashlight for leak detection

Spectronics Corporation has introduced the LeakTracker (P/N LT-300) ─ a powerful, economical UV LED leak detection flashlight that is claimed to be ideal for all industrial fluid system applications.
Inspection kit detects hydraulic fluid injection injuries

Alerton International has introduced the SafetyBlu SB-450 Blue Light Inspection Kit, featuring a portable, high-intensity blue light (450 nm) LED flashlight. Used in conjunction with the company’s revolutionary FluidSafe fluorescent additive, the SB-450 kit locates hydraulic fluid leaks early on. This can help prevent injection injuries to mine workers, and can also reduce fluid consumption by 5 to 7 per cent annually.
Spiral hose helps continuous miners reduce downtime in South Africa
Power management company Eaton’s Aeroquip X-Flex very high pressure spiral hose has been performing to expectations and helping manufacturers servicing continuous miners operating in highly abrasive environments in South Africa to meet their contracted coal extraction rate terms by increasing uptime and decreasing maintenance and service times.
