BCAS appoints new president
The British Compressed Air Society (BCAS) has appointed James Maziak, managing director of Maziak Compressor Services, as its 56th president. He takes over the role from Andy Jones, managing director of Mattei Compressors, who has held the position for the past two years. Maziak will continue to ensure that the society evolves to meet the needs of both its members and compressed air end-users.
Inspiring children to be an engineer
The Rogers Knight Award to recognise engineers who work with teachers to inspire pupils about a future in industry has been won by Angus MacRae, senior engineer at Unity Partnership. The award was created by the Primary Engineer organisation in partnership with BCAS to commemorate the life and work of Rogers Knight, a past president of BCAS.

New technical officer
BCAS has appointed Marion Beaver as its new technical officer. The role is key to BCAS’s work with the UK government, European and other overseas institutions in representing the industry on proposed energy and environmental legislation and Beaver brings a wealth of experience, gained over more than 30 years in production, engineering technology and energy consultancy roles.
