Metal Work UK appoints new technical sales engineer

25 August, 2017

Metal Work UK has appointed Bill Evans, 49, as its new technical sales engineer. Born in West Bromwich, West Midlands, Evans has worked in the pneumatics industry since leaving school at 16, when he worked on an unofficial apprentice scheme at Flo-An Systems, a small pneumatic and hydraulic factory in the Midlands.

Evans, who lives in Arundel, West Sussex, moved from the Midlands to London aged 25 to work for Festo. He was made redundant after serving six months with the company, and then spent a year living and working in Spain. When he returned to the UK he again stayed in London and spent several years working for a CD/DVD replicating company as an engineer, where he met his wife Linda.

Evans joined SMC in 1999, then Festo again in 2005. He moved from London to Arundel, Linda’s home tome, in 2000. In his spare time, Evans enjoys playing golf and working out in the gym. He and Linda have two children; Zac (15) and Joe (13).

Of his new appointment, Evans said: “I am really looking forward to the challenge of my new role at Metal Work. This is the environment I feel most at home in, having worked in the pneumatics industry for many years.”

Brian Ingram, Metal Work UK director, added: “Metal Work are very pleased to have Bill on board, we know his experience and knowledge will be invaluable in the exciting years ahead.”
