MCS Hydraulics opens new UK distribution outlet

23 February, 2017

MCS Hydraulics Srl, the Italian manufacturer of stainless steel products, has established a new distribution outlet in the UK.

The new facility, located on the Peartree Lane Industrial Estate in Dudley, West Midlands, is managed by managing director Mick Emery, who has now been working within the industry for nearly 30 years. “We chose the Peartree Lane site because of its central location; making it ideal for us as a UK-wide distributor,” explained Emery. “This means we can more easily ensure speedy delivery to customers wherever they are located. It's also an ideal collection point for any urgent requirements.”

Andy Knight takes on the role of sales manager, and Sandra Coombe becomes finance controller – both having previously worked with Emery at previous companies. The new branch can supply an extensive range of 316 stainless steel hose fittings, DIN 2353 compression fittings, adaptors, pre-crimp connectors, quick Release couplings and other associated stainless steel products.

MCS also boasts the ability to manufacture bespoke specials to customers’ precise specification requirements through its manufacturing plant in Ariano Irpino, Italy; offering an extremely fast delivery on these items.

The new site can also supply a range of quality, Italian-manufactured mild steel hydraulic fittings, adaptors, hydraulic hose and other key associated components from Bologna-based Italian manufacturers FB Hydraulics Srl, for which MCS Hydraulics UK Ltd. was recently appointed as exclusive UK distributor.

Large stocks, continuity of supply and responsive service

Emery stresses that MCS Hydraulics UK recognises the importance of large stocks, continuity of supply and a responsive service. In addition to its core distribution activities, MCS Hydraulics UK also houses a fully equipped in-house hose manufacturing facility, offering hose assemblies made to order. He commented: “From ‘one-off’ assemblies, the supply of bespoke scheduled hose kits to the OEM market, through to on-site NAS flushing facilities and hose pressure testing, we offer a complete assembly solution for our customers. We strive for excellence in both quality and service. It’s a very hard market at the moment; with the influx of cheaper, inferior alternatives. These alternatives can look like an initial saving to begin with but can cost companies a substantial amount of money long term, due to poor quality or the lack of testing. Leak-free, long-lasting hydraulic systems are what all customers wish to achieve. This is what our products deliver.”

PTFE hose is the latest addition to MCS Hydraulics’ product range. This product complements the company’s existing 316 stainless steel and mild steel fitting ranges. Smooth and convoluted options are now available from 3/16" to 2" bore. The company has also recently launched its redesigned patented ONEGC-Evo ferrule that now has the ability to be used on 10 different hose types; including high pressure spiral hoses.

Emery explained that the company’s core target OEM/user markets are offshore oil & gas, marine & naval, pharmaceutical, chemical, rail, power plants, agricultural and construction. He also stressed that all products manufactured by MCS Hydraulics Srl are all 100% manufactured in Italy, with no outsourced manufacturing undertaken in other territories such as China.
