Quick Hydraulics secures Stauff partnership

09 February, 2017

Altec Engineering Group company Quick Hydraulics, the hydraulics specialist based in the North East, has entered into a partnership with hydraulic hose and fittings manufacturer, Stauff.

The new Stauff Technical Partnership recognises Quick Hydraulics as an approved manufacturer of the international Stauff brand; producing and distributing Stauff hoses from its Tyneside facility and also a source of other products from the Stauff range.

To achieve and maintain Stauff’s high standards, Quick Hydraulics has invested extensively in additional equipment; including a new hose cutter and hose swaging machine, enabling the company to exact customer specifications. Quick Hydraulics has also set up a secure pressure test facility, allowing hoses to be tested up to 1.5 times the working pressure. The maximum working pressure of Stauff hoses is 350 bar (to put this into perspective, a conventional garden hose operates at a maximum of just 10 bar).

Quick Hydraulics was originally founded on Tyneside and today has more than 35 years’ experience, providing hydraulic service and repair and 20 years’ experience running its City and Guilds-accredited hydraulics training programmes. The company’s client list includes Nissan, Caterpillar, British Engineering, Siemens Energy, Hartlepool Power Station and SMD. The new partnership with Stauff further enhances its the products and services capability.

Based in Sheffield, Stauff has been operating in the UK since 1977, with a state-of-the-art distribution and manufacturing facility for hydraulic hose assemblies and manipulated tube assemblies. Its partnership with Quick Hydraulics will see its product offerings and availability improved for business across the North East.

Important step

Andrew Esson, managing director of Quick Hydraulics, commented: “The new partnership with Stauff is an important step for Quick Hydraulics, and for industry in the North East, as we continue to expand the products and services on offer. Having recently opened facilities in West Yorkshire and received important accreditation for our hydraulic training programmes, Quick Hydraulics is pleased to continue on its upward course, with the announcement of our new partnership with such a prestigious name in hose manufacturing.”

John Morris, managing director of Stauff UK Ltd., said: “Partnered with Quick Hydraulics, we are now able to support the North East with complete turnkey solutions for Stauff hydraulic hoses and components from concept to being fully operational, backed up with 100% component compatibility and warranty. Stauff UK are very proud to have been selected as a technical partner by Quick Hydraulics and look forward to working very closely with them.”
