Pier Solutions announces new leadership team

Jordan Ferguson, who served as interim CEO since late 2023, has been named CEO. Ferguson brings extensive commercial experience from roles at Valor Energy Group, Hutcheon Mearns, and H2scan, as well as running his own consultancy focused on investment and strategic growth. Doug Gibb joins as Finance Director, with over 10 years of experience in senior finance positions. Gibb has previously worked with Ferguson in their consultancy, supporting several SMEs through significant growth in the energy industry both domestically and internationally.

The new leadership team, alongside recently promoted members of the original management team and a staff of 22, plans to recruit additional staff to support the business’s new strategy. Pier Solutions, known for its in-house design, manufacturing, and construction of bespoke modular solutions for the energy sector, operates workshops in Aberdeenshire and Dundee. The company has a diverse portfolio of clients in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), hydrogen projects, and climate technology within the energy transition sector.

Jordan Ferguson expressed his enthusiasm for his permanent role, highlighting the impressive heritage and expertise of the Pier Solutions team. He emphasised the company’s ambitions to use their in-house capabilities in design, manufacturing, and fabrication to seize opportunities in hydrogen, BESS, offshore wind, and carbon capture.
