A breath of fresh air as Southern Manufacturing returns for 2022

13 January, 2022

Southern Manufacturing & Electronics makes its eagerly awaited return to Farnborough from February 8th to 10th 2022. The show’s organisers report a strong uptake in stand reservations from firms eager to return to face-to-face business. Many of the show’s familiar names have already signed-up for 2022, bringing with them a wide selection of products and solutions, ranging from high-tech machine tools and automation to mechanical and electronics components, electronics production, business and subcontract services. As usual, firms from all over the UK will be participating as well as a sizeable number of offshore enterprises from around Europe, Asia and the Far East.

Highlights of the exhibitor list for 2022 include Pneumax, a leading European manufacturer of pneumatic and industrial automation components. The firm offers an extensive range of air preparation equipment including a supply and discharge valve which conforms to EN ISO 13849-1 (CAT 2 & CAT 4 Versions), pneumatic, mechanical and electrically operated control valves as well as a comprehensive range of manifold assemblies which can operate using serial system protocols such as CANopen, PROFIBUS, DeviceNET AND EtherCAT and now I-O Link. Micronel will be showcasing its updated ranges of compact energy saving miniature DC Fans and blowers at Southern Manufacturing 2022 aimed at a wide variety of medical, industrial and process control, pressure, or suction/vacuum applications. New exhibitor, O Rings, is an authorised distributor for Trelleborg Sealing Solutions, offering a broad range of sealing solutions for fluid power components. Products range from the versatile elastomer O-ring to complex multi-faceted PTFE-based and polyurethane geometries. The range includes hydraulic seals, pneumatic seals, shaft seals, oil seals and other rotary seals, mechanical face seals/heavy duty seals, aircraft seals and a broad variety of static seals.

The exhibition is likewise an excellent place to track down production hardware and workplace equipment. Total Airtool Services returns to the exhibition for 2022, alongside Leybold UK and Lee Products. Kanya UK and prominent workplace storage equipment specialist Bott provide a variety of storage solutions. There are inventory management platforms from Talliscan, traceability solutions from Brady and HR planning from Allday Time Systems and T-Cards Direct. ERP solutions from MIE and much more.

Free seminar programme

Together with the trade show and demonstration zones, the free seminar programme will return for 2022 in a socially distanced format. Topics highlighted include energy reduction, new technology, innovation, supply chain and business strategy, together with an analysis of prevailing industrial regulations and post Brexit rules and regulations.

Needless to say, safety is the top concern for both site visitors and exhibitors. All precautions are being taken to ensure as safe a setting as possible. Farnborough International Exhibition Centre is one of Europe’s most up-to-date exhibition venues, equipped with a modern, purified fresh air ventilation system. Combined with its non-urban locale and ease of access by personal transport, this makes it a relatively low-risk setting.

There’s complimentary car parking for 3,500 vehicles plus the site is easily accessible by road and public transport. A free dedicated shuttle bus service travels from each of Farnborough’s mainline railway stations directly to the event. The venue itself is equipped with a high standard of facilities including a free WiFi service in the foyer area along with top quality catering outlets. Southern Manufacturing & Electronics 2022 opens from February 8th to 10th. Admission to the exhibition is free of charge.
