Neilson Hydraulics & Engineering expands

14 December, 2021

Sheffield-based Neilson Hydraulics & Engineering Ltd – producer of power units, hydraulic systems and supplier of a wide range of hydraulic components – has moved from its factory in Catcliffe to larger premises in the heart of Sheffield’s engineering quarter on Sanderson Street to expand its in-house manufacturing and design capabilities.

Neilson Hydraulics’ new 17,700 sq. ft premises will enable the company to increase its production of hydraulic power units and systems, as well as giving it additional space to design and manufacture bespoke Batch Mixing Systems, which are used in the construction industry. Neilson Hydraulics’ new premises also include overhead cranes, centre lathes, milling, drilling, fabrication, assembly and test rig facilities. The company also distributes an extensive range of hydraulic components to companies in the agriculture, construction, engineering, farming, materials handling, marine, plastics, recycling and steel industry.

Important step

Rob Turner, managing director of Neilson Hydraulics, comments: “We are now back in the heart of the engineering sector of Sheffield where Neilson Hydraulics were originally based. The new building is an important step in the company’s growth after we had fully outgrown our previous building due to large ongoing projects. The expansion will also now allow us to fulfil our plans to move forward with dedicated areas for testing and fabrication on these specialist projects and products.”
