Valve provides precise control in a compact package

06 August, 2019

Power management company Eaton has introduced new ESVL9 screw-in cartridge valve (SiCV), a five-way, three-position proportional solenoid valve. Featuring a patent-pending, integrated load-sense check control, the latest solution provides a 21% manifold size reduction compared to the external checks available with many five-ported directional control valves on the market today.

“As customers transition from on/off control systems, Eaton’s ESVL9 valve provides a precise, compact solution for advanced proportional control,” said Tolu Oluwatudimu product manager SiCV, Hydraulics Group EMEA. “A part of Eaton’s broad portfolio of SiCVs, the latest offering extends our commitment to helping customers solve their toughest challenges.

Optimised flow forces

The size 10 Eaton ESVL9 valve integrates the external check control within the main cartridge for a more efficient package. In addition to providing a compact platform, Eaton’s latest valve offering allows customers to optimise flow forces and improve metering of flow to the spool-providing stable, even and manageable proportional control. While competitive offerings leverage only one spring to control metering of the spool, the ESVL9 valve utilises two springs for increased functionality.

Additionally, Eaton’s ESVL9 valve was tested in over 30 design cases with full-complicated fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis, resulting in optimised geometry for advanced engineering and design. Eaton’s SiCV portfolio provides engineers and operators with a comprehensive range of valve offerings for both stationary and on/off highway equipment.

Eaton’s SiCVs come in a variety of pressure and flow rates, and options that are designed to stand up to the most extreme environments.
