DGI Doedijns delivers final valve automation equipment for LNG plant in Malaysia
DGI Doedijns has delivered the last out of four batches of equipment for an LNG plant in Malaysia. Over a period of two and a half years, DGI Doedijns delivered 19 hydraulic power units, 39 local panels, 14 ball valves and 25 gate valves with hydraulic actuators.
The actuators are installed in a UL1709 certified fireproof box to keep the valves functional in case of fire. All systems are designed and manufactured in full accordance with the Shell DEP/PTS 31.36.10.30 guidelines.
Safety first
Safety and reliability are the most important aspects when it comes to the design and operation of process systems in an environment with an explosive atmosphere. Due to the complex nature of the LNG plant (and presence of highly flammable gases and liquids), sections where a calamity can occur need to be sealed off rapidly to prevent the fire spreading through the facility or leakage to continue. The hydraulic systems provide this required reliability and speed. Due to the remote control, hazardous areas don’t have to be entered during a calamity.
DGI Doedijns has extensive experience with all kinds of hydraulic valve actuation systems. In 1969 DGI Doedijns supplied its first valve automation package and has delivered more than 1000 systems since then. says Cees Knuist, manager Manager Valve Actuating Systems at DGI Doedijns, commented: “I’m proud to say that DGI Doedijns is one of the most appreciated brands in the industry.”
