New Ingersoll Rand grinders with turbine technology for more power
Ingersoll Rand has launched the VT 26 and VT 45 turbine grinders – four new, robust pneumatic grinders with turbine technology designed to deliver more power and extreme durability in a light and compact body.
The new range of Ingersoll Rand turbine grinders offer world class power to weight ratio delivering 2.6 kilowatts (kW) and 4.5 kW of grinding power and ergonomics that will allow operators in heavy-duty industrial environments like shipyards, foundries or forges get more work done in less time and with less fatigue.
Frederic Jezequel, product management leader for Ingersoll Rand Power Tools in Europe, the Middle East, India and Africa, said: “Ingersoll Rand has created the most compact and light weight turbine grinders on the market. These tools allow operators to work in hard to reach locations, in depth and overhead applications while the turbine engine provides them with the power that allows them to grind and cut more material faster than conventional vane engine grinders.
“We took our inspiration for the design of these new grinders from the combination of the power of an aircraft engine and the low weight of a bird.”
Lower costs of ownership and less downtime
The modular design and quick oil change concept of the Ingersoll Rand VT series are claimed to make the tools easy to service and contribute to lower costs of ownership and less downtime. An integrated spindle-lock allows for fast change of abrasive discs without the need for any additional service tools.
Operators can further experience the ergonomics and comfortable handling of the tools thanks to:
• Specially shaped, 7-degree bend main handle.
• Flexibility of twin-rotation left- or right side-handle.
• Anti-vibration side handle.
• Built-in auto balancer that ensures the discs are abraded evenly and vibrations are reduced.
• 180-degree pivotal main handle on VT26 models allowing the user to work with the level up down for a better feeling and better control of the tool.
