Titanium oil coolers with ten-year guarantee

10 June, 2016

Bowman oil coolers are recognised worldwide for their performance, reliability and durability across a range of demanding hydraulic cooling applications. However, the company adds that some cooling requirements demand even higher levels of durability, due to the highly aggressive nature of the cooling medium used in the system.

For these installations, Bowman has introduced a range of titanium hydraulic oil coolers that are claimed to offer customers long life durability, no matter what the cooling media may be.

Bowman explains that titanium is the ultimate ‘fit and forget’ solution for any application where super aggressive water conditions exist. These can include salt water, contaminated water, or mineral rich fresh water. Titanium resists chemical attack indefinitely and also eliminates the possibility of ‘galvanic reaction’ between dissimilar materials – often the cause of premature failure in certain operating conditions.

Bowman titanium heat exchangers benefit from a full ten-year guarantee on all titanium material that is in contact with the cooling medium, including salt water, chemicals or mineral rich fresh water.

Greater heat transfer efficiency

Bowman states that, as an additional benefit, its titanium heat exchangers offer even greater heat transfer efficiency, due to their ability to operate at higher flow rates compared to standard cupro-nickel, without the risk of tube erosion.

Bowman offers one of the most comprehensive ranges of hydraulic oil coolers currently available, with over 40 individual models in the range, capable of handling heat loads from 4kW to 900kW.

The company also provides specific oil coolers built to satisfy the requirements of the marine and mining industries, as well as units suitable for use with very high temperature oil (up to 200degC).

Bowman hydraulic oil coolers are manufactured in the UK to BS EN ISO 9001-2008 and are supported worldwide through a network of authorised stockists. In addition, a comprehensive range of replacement parts is available, including end covers, ‘O’ seals, tube stacks, bodies and end cover fixings.
