Thorite introduces practical two-day Foundation Pneumatics Training Courses
Thorite, the UK independent distributor of pneumatic products and process systems, has developed practical two-day Foundation Pneumatics Training Courses using fully portable equipment and training aids. The first company to benefit from these courses was CarnaudMetalBox (CMB Engineering), a manufacturer of can making machinery based in Shipley, West Yorkshire.
Inspired by Thorite’s City & Guilds Certificated training courses, which are regularly held in the company’s Training Academy, the new Foundation Pneumatics Courses are designed for personnel aiming to be involved with the design, assembly, maintenance and servicing of pneumatic process systems. Because the instruction can take place in any location, the courses are claimed to be ideal for customers with apprentice schools.
Founded in the 1930s, CMB Engineering now designs, develops and manufactures high-performance metal forming and finishing machinery for the production of beverage, food and aerosol cans for customers around the world.
Eight of CMB Engineering’s mechanical, development and design engineers attended the course and their overall verdict on the value of the training was very positive. Comments included:
“Good pace with great content, practical sessions were ace.”
“Excellent course content with challenging tasks and great trainer. Went in only knowing the very
basics and now would feel confident designing my own simple pneumatic circuits.”
“The theory side was very well conducted and supported by interesting material, whilst the practical sessions allowed us to demonstrate hands-on capabilities. Very friendly and approachable trainer who really knows his stuff.”
“A fascinating look into the basics of pneumatic systems, drawing and assembling circuits. Superb from start to finish. Theory and practical combined was great.”
“Enjoyed the course and have learned a lot. Overall very good and useful.”
Thorite’s two-day Foundation Pneumatics Courses are now available for any interested engineering or processing companies wishing to stage them in their own premises. For full details phone Judy Axcell on 01274 657025 or email judy.axcell@thorite.co.uk.
