Pneumatic push button selected for time- and cost-saving shower system
Arknet Ltd., based near Reading, has developed a PLC controlled commercial shower system that offers installation and operational cost saving in a design that does not require plumbing behind tiled walls and usage benefits such as variable water delivery duration and individual shower head valve control.
Aimed at sports clubs, spas, schools and other facilities that use large volumes of water, the Shower Saver Plus includes Herga 6442 push buttons and 6871 series air switches for user input and interfacing to the control system. A centralised PLC control and remote I/O blocks in each of the shower consoles provides scalability.
The system uses only 24 VDC power and by using Herga’s air activated switching technology, remains extremely safe to use. The 6442 push button has a large air volume allowing for longer tube lengths to the control box to be used. A wide range of compatible air switches are available and the push button is supplied in a choice of colours and materials such as stainless steel or chrome plated brass as well as flush or raised button styles and vandal-proof versions. Air switches from Herga are available with a comprehensive choice of latching and momentary actions to suit a wide range of applications.
Herga Technology, a part of the Variohm Holdings Group, manufacturers a comprehensive range of electrically, pneumatically, infra-red and Bluetooth actuated foot and hand switching controls in standard or custom designs that meet a wide range of international approvals including IEC/UL 60601. Applications include industrial and medical switching across many varying markets and types of equipment.
