Single-/dual-axis inclinometer offers wide choice of options

02 April, 2015

Variohm EuroSensor’s new SST300 series single or dual axis inclinometers is claimed to offer extremely high precision performance with a combined absolute accuracy to +/- 0.01deg, and linearity of +/- 0.06 per cent F.S., over a +/- 5deg range. The robust and durable sensor is available in six measurement ranges up to +/- 60deg and offers optional temperature drift accuracy to +/- 0.05deg at ambient temperatures between -40 and +85degC. The SST300 series also boasts exceptional precision for other important measurement parameters including cross-axis sensitivity, offset, repeatability and hysteresis.

Straightforward setup

The compact cylindrical sensor measures just 50 mm in diameter with a nominal height of around 50 mm. Three fixing slots on the base flange and generous installation misalignment factor makes setting up the sensor straightforward. The CE approved inclinometer’s IP67 protection and extremely high resilience to shock and vibration combine with a ≥ 25000 hour MTBF rating for exceptional reliability performance. Aimed at demanding tilt monitoring applications from precision instruments to drilling platforms and from automotive vehicle test to structural monitoring, the comprehensive range includes a wide range of options for output, mechanical installation and electrical connection. These include a choice of RS232, RS485, CANopen or 4…20 mA interfacing as well as integrated mil-spec connectors.

Wide range

Variohm EuroSensor designs, manufactures and sources a wide range of sensor technologies for linear and rotary position, load, force, vibration and temperature – providing complete pre-sale and post-sale application support for demanding measurement applications throughout industry, agriculture, construction, autosports and research.
