CFP Hydraulic Systems joins the Challenger Group
Challenger Hydraulics Limited of Dewsbury has purchased CFP Hydraulic Systems Limited from the previous owners, Roger and Sandra Causon. Roger will stay on to run the business for at least two years and the business will stay in its’ existing location in Chesterfield.
CFP Hydraulic Systems has been designing, manufacturing, installing, commissioning and providing after-sales service on hydraulic power units and systems for many years and has established a regular and loyal customer base, predominantly throughout the UK. As Roger Causon explained, “having spent 25 years building up the business to be one of the UK’s leading power unit manufacturing businesses Sandra and I now wish to plan for our retirement. We have a very experienced and loyal workforce at CFP and we obviously want to ensure that their future was safeguarded and that their expertise was not lost”.
Challenger Hydraulics Limited is part of the Challenger Group, which has manufacturing facilities in both Dewsbury and Hull. The Dewsbury site has traditionally concentrated its efforts in the manufacture of hydraulic cylinders and hydraulic and pressure washing pipeline products but it has manufactured hydraulic power units in the past when customers specified a complete package.
Richard Green, Managing Director of the Challenger Group, believes that “this acquisition will assist the Challenger Group to expand the power unit manufacturing side of the business and allow the Dewsbury site to concentrate on marketing and manufacturing hydraulic cylinders and pipeline products utilising. This will allow our new CFP division to specialise in the design and manufacture hydraulic power units and systems”.
