Bürkert solenoid valves offer all-round peformance (May 2013)

07 May, 2013

Bürkert’s new Type 6027 direct acting range of process solenoid valves is designed for use with neutral gases, fluids, steam, vacuum and slightly aggressive media at pressures up to 135bar and temperatures to +180 degrees C. The 6027 range offers maximum flexibility to process users with a modular design that allows multiple variations of function, temperature range, coil rating, chemical resistance and approvals. This simplifies valve selection for the user, providing the benefits of standardisation and a virtually unlimited combination of valve options.

The Type 6027 is a direct-acting (2/2 and 3/2, NO and NC) range of solenoid valves for shut-off, dosing, filling and ventilating tasks, and also for vacuum applications (0…600 mbar absolute), in pharmaceutical, food, water treatment and burner applications. Manufactured with brass or stainless steel (316L) bodies, EPDM, FKM or PTFE/PEEK seals, and 1/4, 3/8 or ½ connections (G, NPT and RC), the 6027 series is designed for use with gases, steam, water, oils and mildly acidic or alkaline solutions. In addition, there is also an “oil and grease-free” version for dry gases that can be used in oxygen and paint applications.

The 6027 series combines higher performance with excellent reliability, resulting in lower operating costs for the user. Key to this performance is a direct acting design that uses the latest AC 19 coil technology, with optional integrated power boosters where required. The AC 19 system is available in three versions: the standard coil (K version), a power-enhancing coil (L version) and an Ex version with a direct cable outlet. In all its versions, the system provides for dependable opening and closing, even in cases of fluctuating supply voltages, thereby enhancing safety. For outdoor applications it is also available with IP65 ingress protection.

The use of power boosting in the AC19 coil system offers several advantages. First, it delivers enhanced performance, due to the ability to switch higher pressures. Second, the technology integrates diagnostic functions for fast fault detection. Third, the micro- size of the boosters delivers one of the most compact fluidic solutions for high flow rates.

In addition to optimising the operating costs of process installations, the modular design of the 6027 range offers planning-related benefits. The modular system makes it simple for the user to select the right combination of coil and housing to meet the exact performance characteristics of his system.

The 6027 range can easily be tailored to specific user requirements to provide customised solutions. This could be in respect of certifications; housing materials: stainless steel or brass; selection of electrical connections - via DIN plugs or cables; adaptation of technical connections through the use of different flange housings; alternative coil and seal materials, and a wide range of port connections and voltages. In addition, Burkert also offers a comprehensive range of complementary high-performance components which can systemise the Type 6027 valves for fast integration into machines and manifolds.
