Karting for Heroes update
Karting for Heroes – already a success
By Geoff Kelley. Hydraquip
As we draw nearer to inaugural Karting for Heroes race day (to be held on 23rd May at Buckmore Park, Kent) the jigsaw is coming together with tremendous support across the board from the teams and supporters alike. Initially when I was putting together the bones of Karting for Heroes I was looking at raising circa £5K for the event but as the jigsaw has come together I am going to have to admit that it looks like I got it wrong based on developments so far. I am pleased to say that before we have even set foot into Buckmore grounds or fired up an engine K4H has raised over £1000K already, thanks to team sponsorship. Businesses too have been throwing in their support with offers of goods and services to help raise more money with an up to date listing shown on the Sponsors page of the website. Thank you to everyone who has helped us off to a brilliant start - but definitely not the finish.
Filling the grid
Based on recent web activity and numerous conversations April should see a jump in the number of paid up teams entered for the event, so if you know of anyone who is thinking about putting a team in, give them a gentle nudge.
Bring your own army
Okay so you've got a team in the race, you raised a lump of money in your bid for pole and your ready to go. Well almost, you need an army of fans to cheer you on.........or possibly mock you should your first driver lose it at the start on the hairpins (and yes I can claim that one myself, but it was wet!). Spectators of all ages are more than welcome on the day and the louder and brighter they are the better.
K4H - The shirt
With generous support from ‘Joules’ and ‘Alphastitch’, we will be offering a limited number of K4H branded polo shirts for sale. These are a quality polo in washed navy with the K4H logo on the front and K4H logo on the back. As they are limited they will be on a first come basis on the day. Available in medium, large and extra large. Yours for a minimum donation of £20 each.
