The name change comes after the company’s 120th anniversary in 2024, a milestone that not only celebrates its rich history but also looks forward to its future. The new name, LHY Powertrain, better reflects the company’s expanded product offering, which now extends beyond hydraulics to encompass a wide range of technologies and complete drive systems. This evolution is aimed at providing customers with holistic solutions for their drive systems, rather than just individual components.

LHY Powertrain traces its origins to the hydraulics division of Güldner-Motoren-Gesellschaft, which was first established as a manufacturer of tractors. The company began equipping its vehicles with hydrostatic drives, eventually expanding to serve external customers in the 1960s. Over the decades, Linde Hydraulics, as it was known for much of its history, grew steadily, ultimately becoming an independent company in 2013.
