BFPA 65th Anniversary Awards
To celebrate BFPA’s 65th anniversary year, in addition to the Corporate Responsibility and Young Rising Stars awards featured in the July/August edition of Hydraulics & Pneumatics, we have made a further seven awards to members for Membership Loyalty.
Membership Loyalty Awards 2024
These awards were presented to companies who have had unbroken membership of the BFPA for 65 years and 35 years and were founder members of the manufacturer and distributor groups within the association respectively
65 Years Membership Awards – Manufacturers
The first time a group of hydraulic manufacturers met to discuss forming a trade association was in April 1959 and the first recorded meeting was held a month later in May 1959 at The George Hotel in Solihull. The name of the new association was agreed at a Committee Meeting on 19 August 1959 as: The Association of Hydraulic Equipment Manufacturers (AHEM).
Hallite Seals International Limited
Chris Butcher, BFPA Managing Director presented the longstanding 65 years award membership to Hallite on a visit to their UK facility in Middlesex.
Tony Pace, Hallite Managing Director commented: “Throughout the years, being a member of the BFPA has provided us with invaluable benefits such as access to crucial industry trends and networking opportunities. It has been an honour to actively participate in industry discussions and contribute meaningfully.”
Hydreco Hydraulics Limited
Chris Butcher, BFPA Managing Director presented the longstanding 65 years award membership to Hydreco Hydraulics on a visit to their UK facility in Poole.
Accepting the award on behalf of Hydreco, Mangaing Director Toby Spruce commented: “It has been an honour and a privilege to receive the British Fluid Power Association award for 65 years of membership on the behalf of Hydreco Hydraulics Limited. Special thanks go to Chris Butcher and Martin Kingsbury of the BFPA for their time and support, along with Robert Buchanan.”
Savery Hydraulics
On a visit to Savery Hydraulics over the summer, Chris Butcher, BFPA Managing Director presented the longstanding 65 years award membership to Managing Director Graham Wood at their Coventry facility.
35 Years Membership Awards - Distributors
1989 saw a distributor group formed within the association, and awards were presented over the summer to four distributor companies who were founder members, to recognise 35 years of continuous membership of the association.
AC Hydraulics Limited
Chris Butcher presented the 35 years membership award to John Bray, Managing Director of AC Hydraulics, when visiting their facility in Hinckley in July
Hedley Hydraulics Limited
Hedley Hydraulics was awarded BFPA Lifetime Supporter Award on a visit from Chris Butcher, Managing Director at British Fluid Power Association (BFPA).
The award was received by Steve Davies, Hedley’s Technical Director. Steve commented: “It is a pleasure for Hedley to receive this award. We are proud of the positive impact we make to the fluid power industry and our affiliation to the BFPA.”
Phoenix Fluid Power
Elizabeth Noles, Managing Director of Phoenix Fluid Power was presented with the company’s 35 years in membership award by Chris Butcher in July at their facility in Peterborough.
Elizabeth Noles commented: “Our company is proud to contribute to the British fluid power industry's legacy of excellence and innovation, particularly for the marine sector.”
Rotec Hydraulics Limited
Paul Prouse, Managing Director of Rotec Hydraulics Limited, received the company’s 35 years in membership award from Chris Butcher at their factory in Taunton.
Paul Prouse commented: “This esteemed award recognises our commitment, dedication and support to the British fluid power industry. The award also celebrates Rotec’s special and longstanding relationship with the BFPA.”
