BCAS appoints new Executive Director Designate
The British Compressed Air Society (BCAS) has appointed Ashley Quarterman as its new Executive Director Designate.
Working in the engineering sector for almost 30 years, Ashley has both a technical and business development background, managing teams both in the UK and in other territories including Asia Pacific and the Nordics. He has gained a huge amount of knowledge including 18 years’ experience of industrial pipework systems in roles at Tyco Fire and Building Products, as Business Development Manager at Parker Hannifin, Senior Sales Manager at Walker Filtration and Commercial Leader at Ingersoll Rand.
BCAS says the past few months have seen significant change as it works towards strengthening the team and succession planning to ensure a stronger BCAS. Ashley will work alongside Vanda Jones during this transition period and, with the two of them working closely together, BCAS says it is delighted that it can continue with its many plans and initiatives to help its members grow their businesses.
Having worked in the industrial sector for many years, Ashley says he knows only too well the ongoing challenges of attracting young engineering talent into the industry. He will work closely with Steven Rohan and with the BCAS board to continue the important work around apprenticeships and helping to support businesses in navigating the skills’ gap.
Ashley said: “I am proud to join the British Compressed Air Society and to continue the great work that Vanda and the team have been undertaking to improve the support offered to our members. Whether you are a manufacturer or a distributor, BCAS offers tailor-made support, from technical and legislative updates, to training, to an extensive range of business resources - and I will be looking to extend the services we can offer further still to ensure BCAS delivers all members the best possible value.
“I have already met with some members to understand more about the support that would benefit you most and look forward to meeting with many more of you in the coming weeks.”
Steven Rohan, BCAS President adds: “I am delighted to have Ashley onboard, and I am convinced his excellent foundation of technical and business development skills will allow him to be a success in his new role. He is a valuable addition to our team and will challenge all of us to make the Society the best it can be for our members and compressed air users.
I would also like to take this opportunity, on behalf of myself and the BCAS board, to thank Vanda for her exceptional contribution during this ongoing transition period. We know that many of you will have been unsure about the future direction of the Society and would like to reassure you that Vanda remains a key part of the team.”
