Uniflex-Hydraulic UK launches 1200 tonne crimping tool (Oct 2010)

26 October, 2010

Uniflex-Hydraulic UK, official distributor of the Uniflex range of hose assembly machinery and equipment, has introduced the HM 1200 crimping tool to the UK market. Following extensive design and development work, the HM 1200 provides a high crimp force of 1200 tonnes to ensure proven performance and reliability across a wide range of applications and industries. User-friendly operation is achieved via a standalone control console, featuring simple push buttons and integral screen.

Principal uses for the HM 1200 include the fast and accurate crimping of ultra-high pressure hoses, reinforcement bars, rebars, insulators, ropes, concrete steel and tube forming. Significantly, the new machine’s capability to simplify the manufacture of 3” nominal bore ultra high pressure hose assemblies (up to 10,000 psi) makes it suitable for sub-sea oil well intervention and many other specialised applications.

Avoids risk of product contamination
The HM 1200 has been designed as a grease-free machine, thereby avoiding risk of product contamination. Also, its smooth movement, plus a low noise level of just 69dBA, are claimed to eliminate operator discomfort and distraction for improved productivity.

Oliver Bain, managing director of Uniflex-Hydraulic UK, commented: “This latest model in the Uniflex range offers an unbeatable combination of performance, reliability and versatility. With the ability to handle ultra-high pressure hoses up to 3” nominal bore, the new crimping machine provides fast and accurate hose assembly at the push of a button.”
