Fluid power buyers and users should head to Southern Manufacturing & Electronics
In February next year at the Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference Centre, Southern Manufacturing & Electronics 2023 will host nearly 600 firms exhibiting a vast array of components, equipment, software and services.
Metalcutting and sheet metalworking machine tools, tooling, workholding, automation, metrology equipment, finishing machines, laser marking equipment and additive manufacturing machines will all be in evidence.
Having progressed from a small regional exhibition 25 years ago, the event now attracts exhibitors and visitors from around the whole of the UK, Ireland, continental Europe, the Americas and Asia. The industries and technologies represented are diverse but are no barriers between the various areas. Many visitors say it is an aspect of the show that is especially useful, as it encourages a wider ranging itinerary though the exhibition halls, leading to discovery of firms specialising in technologies that would otherwise probably not be encountered.
Hydraulics, filtration and more
Subcontractors from across the UK and beyond will also present their capabilities. IPFL in Nazeing specialises in prototyping and batch production of plastic parts by 3D printing and other CNC machine tools to produce high quality components for the medical, defence, motorsport and scientific industries. Services include prototyping and production of microfluidics and pneumatic manifolds. From further afield, Taipei-based Suntium will explain its prowess in the manufacture of high precision components and gears for OEMs. It serves customers operating in the areas of pump technology, fluid handling, laboratory analytical equipment, medical instruments, pneumatics, hydraulics, filtration and gas generation.
Located less than seven miles from Farnborough, Cees Fasteners supplies high quality mechanical engineering components and fasteners and has the ability to manufacture bespoke items to order. New at Southern next year will be ranges of pipes, hoses and hose clips, seals, gaskets and anti-vibration mounts. North-west London company Brownell designs and manufactures solutions to protect against high humidity and atmospheric related issues. Its ever-expanding product range encompasses pressure relief valves, sensors and the latest innovations in dry gas purging technology.
Leybold UK, Chessington, produces vacuum pumps and components for the manufacture of semiconductors, data carriers, displays, coated architectural glass and solar cells. Vacuum systems are used across a vast range of processes in the refinement of steel and the production and packaging of food. Vacuum is also indispensable for the operation of mass spectrometers and electron microscopes, as well as in almost all areas of modern research and development.
Software focus
Software will feature prominently at the show. VKS from Quebec will demonstrate its intuitive software for standardising and optimising processes. Work instructions, checklists, maintenance processes, audits and much more can be digitised by recording process and quality data in real time and integrating it into existing systems in an organisation. Step-by-step digital work instructions are created quickly and efficiently, with no paper in sight, saving money and maximising ROI by reducing printing costs.
