Boge provides compact and space-saving solution for Komori (Mar 09)

20 May, 2009

As part of a supplier review, Komori – a global printing machinery manufacturer – has chosen Boge Compressors to supply the screw compressors for its small format printing machinery in the UK. The compact design and inherent low sound pressure levels reportedly made the CL series screw compressor the ideal solution.
Komori UK, part of the worldwide Komori Group, manufactures commercial printing machinery used by a number of sectors of industry to print magazines, direct mail, posters, banners etc. A number of functions on the small format printing machines are powered by compressed air and so a compressor will always form part of the printing machine package supplied. Sourcing high-quality compressed air is essential to Komori which prides itself on manufacturing superior quality printing machinery.

Small footprint
As part of its quality control procedures, Komori regularly reviews its compressed air suppliers. With this policy in mind, Komori’s contracts manager Russell Gordon invited Boge Compressors to trial and then tender to become an approved supplier. On reviewing the compressed air requirements for the company’s print machinery, Boge’s area sales manager Dale Cellier recommended the CL 3 screw compressor. The Boge CL series provides a small, quiet and low output screw compressor option. A compact design ensures a small footprint; an important consideration in many busy print production areas where the compressors are usually installed next to the press.
The CL series is also noted for its very low sound pressure levels. High performance damping and lamellar graphite casting ensure highly effective silencing producing sound levels as low as 59 dB(A), making it suitable in point-of-use applications such as printing facilities. In addition, all service components are easily accessible from one point to allow future maintenance work to be carried out in a convenient manner.
Gordon commented
Eighteen months down the line Russell Gordon, commented: “The Boge CL 3 screw compressors have proven to be the ideal compressor solution for our small format printing machinery.”
