Schwer’s 20th anniversary in the UK complemented by major re-fit
Schwer Fittings Ltd. – manufacturer and supplier of high precision stainless steel tube components and hose fittings – has completed a major re-fit at its premises in Warrington, Cheshire. Having recently expanded into the building next door to its established site, the company now enjoys new office space, a separate stores building and a fully refurbished trade counter. As well as helping to mark its 20th trading year in the UK in 2014, these latest developments are also in line with the company's ongoing strategy of continuous expansion and improvement. Machinery investment Part of Schwer's machinery re-fit involved the purchase of three new machines for the company's range of hose tails. This investment is currently bringing all stages of the manufacturing process in-house, thus shortening production time and reducing prices. Wolfgang Moellers, managing director of Schwer Fittings UK, commented on the recent developments: "Our core focus over the past few months leading up to our 20th anniversary in the UK has been on making our product offering and related services even more extensive, efficient and cost-effective for our customers. We have achieved this by using some of our own company profits in the UK to extend into next door, refurbish and re-fit both buildings, as well as source the three new machines." He continued: "A selection of the items we supply have historically been manufactured by various Schwer branches on the Continent. Now, our new and updated portfolio of machines is enabling us to manufacture and bend both our larger range of hose tails as well as the smaller variety in-house at our site in Warrington. The resulting cuts in delivery times and transportation costs have enabled us to pass on price reductions to our customers. Additionally, our latest business enhancements mean we have been able to increase our staff levels, thus helping to boost employment levels in our area." Already making an impression Moellers pointed out that the newly refurbished trade counter, run by the company's technically trained sales team, is already impressing customers that regularly visit the site to collect their parts and equipment. "The whole operation is now even more slick and professional than before," he remarked. The building extension has also provided space for a training room – look out for an announcement later in the year, when Schwer will be offering Training Courses on the assembly and use of their product ranges. Schwer Fittings Ltd. will explain the benefits of the recent re-fit – as well as promote its wide range of stainless steel tube components and hose fittings – at Fluid Power & Systems 2014, to be staged at Birmingham's NEC from 8 to 10 April.
