Northern Manufacturing & Electronics returns to EventCity, Manchester this October.

09 August, 2019

Northern Manufacturing & Electronics, the North’s foremost industrial technology show, will again be staged at EventCity, Manchester from 2 to 3 October 2019. With around 250 companies expected to take part, the show is without doubt the top event of its kind in the North.

Process industries, for example, pharmaceuticals, food & beverage, oil & gas and advanced manufacturing are the keystones of the North West’s impressive manufacturing output, which generates the largest contribution to the region’s economy of any in the UK. With approximately ten percent of Greater Manchester’s population employed in manufacturing, there's certainly no lack of prospective visitors to the show, and as a consequence the exhibition is an essential one for many major global vendors keen to connect to this dynamic regional market.

Electrical and mechanical focus

Components, both electrical and mechanical, are a big aspect of the show and the selection of options on show is comprehensive. Regular exhibitor igus UK returns with a wide range of energy chain, bearings, linear guides, flexible cables, stock bar and stock plate materials, offering cost-effective, lightweight and maintenance-free solutions for a variety of engineering applications. Another regular exhibitor, Micronel specialises in high performance blowers and fans for industries with special performance characteristics, plus standard slim fans, axial fans and high-performance high-pressure radial blowers from stock. Highlighted this year will be a new range of metal-bodied, rugged DC blowers in the new U100HL, designed as space and energy saving alternatives to bulky side channel blowers.

The compact blowers are aimed at a wide variety of industrial and process control pressure or suction/vacuum applications. They have an aluminium IP67 housing, efficient brushless DC motor with integrated electronic driver, M16 connector and G¾ inch pipe threads for 32mm hose connection. The housing complies with protection class IP67 with connected suction and discharge ports.

Pressure transducers and pressure transmitter specialist ESI Technology also returns for 2019. Established over 30 years ago, ESI pioneered Silicon-on-Sapphire sensor technology in applications such as oil & gas, subsea, aerospace, defence, hydraulics, depth/level, hazardous area, automotive, process & industrial, test calibration and OEM markets. Among the list of outstanding first-time exhibitors at Northern Manufacturing 2019 is industrial power transmission specialists Ringspann UK – part of the global Ringspann GmbH group. Ringspann provides a wide selection of power transmission components, as well as associated components including brakes, overload clutches and condition monitoring.

Wide range of engineering disciplines

Northern Manufacturing is one of the most important regional showcases for subcontract services, with many engineering disciplines represented this year. Precision engineers returning for 2019 include Jenks & Cattell Engineering. Established over 100 years ago, the firm is among the UK’s leading metalwork companies, offering specialist services such as laser cutting, fabrication, presswork/stamping and welded assemblies with both manual and robotic welding facilities. Another well-established firm is Mintdale Engineering. The firm’s machine room bristles with the latest CNC technology, including turning centres with sub-spindles, live tooling, magazine bar feeds on 9-axis and sliding head CNCs, and machining centres with rotary axis. Alongside machining, the firm also offers brazing, induction brazing and clean assembly to medical standards. Items are produced to ISO 9001-2015 quality standard for the medical, brewery, heavy plant and automotive industries.
