ExxonMobil Industry 4.0 guide for plastics processors

03 May, 2019

ExxonMobil has developed its ‘Advancing Industry 4.0 in Plastics with Hydraulic Fluids’ guide in partnership with industry expert, Dr Robin Kent. The free handbook explains how selecting a high-performance fluid will not only protect hydraulic systems but also help reduce energy use and enhance plant performance.

Smart factory technologies are revolutionising plastics processing but to realise the full benefits of Industry 4.0 machines need to be properly protected and working at their most efficient. A key step in ensuring this happens is the selection of hydraulic fluids.

Choosing a high-performance hydraulic fluid, such as Mobil DTE 10 Excel, can help protect injection moulding machines, allowing them to be part of Industry 4.0. It can also help to:

· Reduce start-up times

· Cut energy consumption

· Optimise cycle times

“Plastics processing is a sector experiencing inexorable change. Next generation technologies are accelerating the rate of automation, forging Industry 4.0 – the next step in manufacturing,” said Inken Reuser, EAME offer advisor ExxonMobil. “High performance hydraulic oils play an important role in this revolution, ensuring that your plastics processing equipment is operating at its optimal level, when and where you need it.”
