Anglian Compressors celebrates 35 years as Atlas Copco Premier Distributor

11 April, 2013

Anglian Compressors, based in Peterborough, is celebrating its 35th anniversary as a Premier Distributor for Atlas Copco Compressors. According to managing director, Paul Skerritt, Anglian Compressors’ continued success is the result of offering quality compressed air products combined with excellent customer service: “Our business continues to grow, proving the value of the company’s ethos which is pinned around customer service, support and a loyal team of staff. It‘s an approach that has paid dividends and has won us many plaudits and accolades.”

Established in 1977, the company employs 15 people and has been operating from its current premises in Peterborough for the past 21 years. From there, the company provides a wide range of high quality and energy efficient compressed air products and services to companies from across the East of England; with a major part of the business focussed on enabling companies in the food industry to reduce their compressed air energy consumption and costs.

The company partly attributes its longevity and success in meeting targets to its full utilisation of Atlas Copco’s Industrial Air compressor product range which includes the small Z-series of oil-free compressors as well as nitrogen generation units. It is also attributable to the consultative approach the company undertakes with its customers.

According to Richard Hewitt, Sales Director at Anglian Compressors: “We employ on-site data logging methods that enable us to present meaningful data to customers on their air usage trends. That way we can highlight potential savings and offer tailored energy-efficient solutions. For example, only recently we saved an engineering company over £6000 in energy costs by installing a smaller and more efficient VSD replacement compressor for its original fixed-speed machine.”

The business has been awarded Atlas Copco Distributor of the year on several occasions, the earliest back in 1984 and the most recent in 2011 together with several awards, including Quality Air Distributor of the Year when the company was presented with a Gold Filter Award.

In recognising Anglian’s achievements, Atlas Copco Compressors’ Southern Sales Manager, Ken Revell, commented: “Anglian Compressors’ sales and service team are consistent performers. Their focus on energy-saving solutions and the true cost of ownership, together with the importance of equipment servicing programmes, has helped them to build a strong relationship with their customers. That rapport and trust in their judgement is reflected in consistent and significant year on year sales growth.”

Anglian Compressors 35 years of successful business synergy with Atlas Copco will be fully recognised early in the New Year when senior figures from Atlas Copco Compressors’ UK sales operation will visit the Anglian Compressors’ team to celebrate this milestone in the company’s history.
