A winning perspective on engineering risk for IMIA’s annual photography competition
The International Association of Engineering Insurers (IMIA) has announced the winner of its annual photography competition as Antonio Rodrigues Peyneau.
Peyneau impressed the global judging panel with a vibrant image of the Lauca hydropower project in Angola which he is currently working on as an employee of contracting firm Odebrecht.
The competition is now in its seventh year and aims to engage IMIA members from around the globe, giving them the opportunity to illustrate the diversity in engineering risks.
IMIA executive committee member, Richard Radevsky commented: “The competition allows our members to showcase the types of risks they encounter every day in a way not often seen by the public. This year, the judges have once again been impressed by the quality of entries received. All the entries have brought vivid colour to the world of engineering risk, but we decided to award the trophy to Antonio for his eye-catching perspective on the multi-billion-dollar Lauca project.”
This year, judges included Volkan Babur of Mapfre Sigorta Turkey, Guido Benz of Swiss Re Corporate Solutions in Zurich, Utz Groetschel, IMIA’s recently retired secretary and Mike Spencer, the organisation’s incoming secretary. The winner was announced at the organisation’s annual conference in Singapore.
