Light and compact valve for mobile applications
The LS04 pneumatic spool valve from Aventics is said to be ideal for dynamic areas of application. Positioned as close as possible to the actuator, modern valves ensure short switching times and high-energy efficiency. The prerequisite for this are extremely compact valves with minimal weight.
With the LS04, Aventics offers a valve series that is particularly well-suited for direct assembly on moving machine and system parts.
Light and compact
With the valve body being only 10.8mm in width, the vale is particularly light and compact. By relying on polyamide and aluminium, the Aventics developers went a step further in their design for the LS04 spool valve.
Jean-Marc Gruffat, strategic product management at Aventics, commented: “When it comes to compact dimensions, we are ‘best in class’ with this product, without even taking its low weight into consideration. All this makes the LS04 ideal for embedded solutions.”
With a minimal switch-on time of 9 milliseconds, the valve assists with precise positioning of, for example, tools mounted on robot arms.
A versatile valve series
The nominal flow is 200 l/min for LS04-XS and 170 to 310 l/min for LS04-AF; the pneumatic valves are available with pipe connection diameters of 4 and 6 millimetres. They are equipped with both two-pin and three-two round plug connectors (M8); a plug connector diameter of 10 millimetres determines the minimum width of the valve series. A status LED indicates the switching state of the valve. The especially compact version LS04-XS (XS for extra small) can be operated as a single solenoid 5/2 directional valves. With the standard version LS04-AF (AF for all functions), developers can choose from 5/2, 5/3, and 2x3/2 directional valves with all of the classic functions.
