Products a click away with IMI Precision Engineering’s new web store

06 October, 2017

To enhance its digital presence, IMI Precision Engineering has launched a new and improved website, providing engineers and maintenance managers with an even simpler way to access critical parts to keep their machines moving.

The mobile enabled website has been launched in 20 languages to serve 34 countries and can be accessed through www.imi-precision.com, ensuring customers are never more than a few clicks away from the right part. Offering real time access to data on over 100,000 high quality products, as well as technical information and guidance through one single platform, the new site can be viewed via desktop, tablet or mobile device.

Through the site, users can access a range of added-value features which help engineers and maintenance managers source the right product for their application. From a live chat function in which customers can have a one-to-one conversation with a technical advisor, through to specialist catalogues and datasheets.

Other technical services include an actuator configuration tool which lets the customer choose the exact components to create a part for their specific requirements, and once configured the CAD files can be easily accessed and downloaded. To consolidate the process, customers are also provided with an account where they can view details of open and historic orders and quotes.

Smartphone access around the clock

Ciaran Crowley, general manager of IMI Norgren Express, said: “The new website provides our customers with the opportunity to discover our capabilities, receive technical help and support, and find and buy products all in one place. Our aim is to significantly reduce the amount of time spent finding and ordering replacement pneumatic parts and as the website is mobile enabled, it ensures customers have convenient smartphone access around the clock.

“More frequently, we’re finding that our customers aren’t just looking for product solutions, but the technical knowledge and experience that comes with them, which is why we’re placing service at the heart of what we do. Our organisation is overflowing with marvellous minds who have a wealth of experience and we wanted our customers to be able to tap into this more easily. With more customers moving to digital platforms, the site has been developed based on analytics and ongoing customer feedback, to ensure it’s as easy as possible to navigate.

“The website includes a range of new features which aim to make the product purchasing process as streamlined as possible. In addition, we have included a number of dedicated zones which help our customers source the right product for their application. This includes our CAD configurator and expertise section, which provides guidance on specific sectors.”

The site follows the introduction of IMI Precision Engineering’s new IMI Norgren Express app launched late last year, which is providing customers with a faster and easier solution when sourcing replacement parts.
