Schwer Fittings UK update
Schwer Fittings UK has announced recent enhancements, achievements and expansion plans in the form of new machinery, additional accreditation and plans to expand the size of its premises.
The company recently sourced two new Doosan CNC machines from a supplier in the UK, and these new machines are already enabling the company to produce even higher quantities of its wide range of equipment. The new CNC equipment is mainly being used to manufacture some of the company’s ferrule ranges and some of the larger hose tails. “And whereas in the past we would have to wait for one of our branches to make them and then ship them to us, we are now able to sell ferrules ‘hot off the machines’,” said Schwer Fittings UK’s managing director, Wolfgang Moellers Along with the purchase of the new equipment, he points out that the company has just recruited two operators and plans to take on an apprentice, in addition to the two programmers recruited earlier this year.
Also, Schwer is planning to expand into the building next to its current site in Warrington, Cheshire. The company currently holds an extensive stock of equipment, which it intends to re-locate to the new building once it has been fully acquired and adapted for warehousing purposes. Additionally, Schwer recently secured DNV accreditation. The company has had American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) for some time. “Now, this latest DNV accreditation is the ‘cherry on the cake’,” remarked Moellers.
