Technologies that will drive the smart, connected factories of the future

13 April, 2017

At Interpack 2017 (4 to 10 May 2017 – Düsseldorf), visitors to the Rockwell Automation stand will see how The Connected Enterprise brings Smart Factories to life, to create a world of greater choice and unique consumer experience driven by packaging mass customisation and product diversity.

As customer demands vary, batch sizes get smaller, lead times get tighter and new packaging concepts are introduced, the next generation of smart products and solutions are already out there to help address these current and future needs. With this in mind, visitors to the Rockwell Automation stand will see how they can create smart machines now for the smart connected factories of the future.

Rockwell Automation believes that flexibility and agility driven by innovation, the Integrated Architecture and The Connected Enterprise will be the primary drivers that deliver the most cost and operational benefits for the packaging industry over the next decade.

On the Rockwell Automation stand visitors will witness iTRAK and MagneMotion systems in action. Both technologies offer independent movers and multiple-motion-profile flexibility to deliver intelligent conveyor systems that can be modified in seconds.

Integrated Architecture portfolio

Forming part of the company’s wider Integrated Architecture portfolio, multiple complementary packaging automation technologies will also be on display – including serialisation solutions – supported by platform and industry specialists, who will explain the immediate tangible benefits of the single platform, single-network Integrated Architecture approach.

They will also highlight how these products fit within a larger Connected Enterprise and how customer support and complementary software solutions result in final applications that deliver greater IT/OT security, higher levels of safety and unambiguous upgrade paths.

Additionally, attendees will be invited to visit various machine builder’s stands at the show to see for themselves how OEMs and their end users have leveraged Rockwell Automation technology to create smart machines and smart factories – revolutionising their customer offerings.

At Interpack 2017 – a wide range of unique applications equipped with Rockwell Automation solutions will be on show on these OEM stands.

In addition to its own product range and customer applications, Rockwell Automation is using Interpack to recognise and reward innovation through its ‘Best Future Machine Award’, which has been designed to recognise innovative deployment of contemporary technology.
