Oilgear manufacturing investment leads to pump range expansion

A new range of variable displacement pumps has been launched to the EMEA market as a result of a multi-million pound investment made by Oilgear to its manufacturing facilities. The new range of axial piston pumps complement Oilgear’s existing product range and add greater flexibility and efficiency for the company’s bespoke electro-hydraulic packages; suitable for industries as diverse as construction, marine and defence.


Oilgear’s variable displacement, axial-piston pumps offer long lasting performance in some of the harshest operating conditions. Having invested in a fully automated production plant at its manufacturing facilities in Fremont, Nebraska, it is now able to offer a larger range of products; with exceptionally low lead times on all orders globally, even on non-standard orders.

Seamless integration

Oilgear reports that the scope of performance capabilities within the range is substantial, offering a solution for almost any application; from mobile plant equipment through to steel forging presses. The company adds that the accuracy and reliability of the pumps allow them to integrate seamlessly with larger hydraulic systems and improve the overall efficiency of the package. Their compact design makes them easy to retrofit to existing packages to deliver the same benefits to applications where the hydraulic system is midway through its service life.

Reduced wear

Kieran Doyle, managing director for Oilgear UK, said: “The Oilgear range of hydraulic piston pumps uses advanced manufacturing techniques to reduce wear internally and extend the overall service life – making them some of the most durable pumps on the market. Available as part of our bespoke engineered packages or as individual components from any of our licensed distributors, we’re able to use the new range to respond quickly to our customer’s needs with short delivery times and top class reliability.”

The Leeds-based manufacturing and assembly plant is one of Oilgear’s leading European facilities. It is a centre of engineering excellence for design and aftermarket services of complete electro-hydraulic packages, with an on-time delivery rate of 97 per cent. As part of its commitment to customer satisfaction it is working with distributors around the EMEA region to ensure the new range is available to all end-users.
