Eriks to open seven new UK regional hubs

11 May, 2016

Eriks is strengthening its UK business with the creation of seven regional hubs that will support the local service centres.

Six of the new hubs will be located in Leeds, Aberdeen, Norwich, Birmingham, Swansea and Maidenhead. The exact location of the seventh hub, which will service the North West of England, is dependent upon the sourcing of a suitable site.

The new hubs will be equipped with a combination of product, logistics and engineering knowhow that can be deployed quickly in support of customers, either to site or to individual local service centres. Each regional hub will include a team of technical specialists that cover all of the Eriks’ nine core competences.

Steve Waugh, chief executive officer for Eriks UK, commented: “We have recognised that industry is relying ever more heavily on its indirect supply chain partners to deliver the product and engineering knowhow that is often not available in-house.

“Our investment in new regional hubs is designed to bring all of our capabilities closer to the customer, both geographically and technically. We will support our customers throughout the life cycle of their industrial products, from selection, customisation and tailoring of solutions, through to on-going servicing, maintenance and repair, up to the end of life and decommissioning.

Cradle-to-grave support

“The ultimate goal is to provide even more value to the industrial supply chain, supporting the products we supply to our customers throughout their entire life cycle, from cradle to grave.”

As a result of the creation of the new regional hubs a small number of distribution and electromechanical sites will be merged. Waugh commented: “The new regional hubs will strengthen our local presence and, in the few instances where sites are being closed or merged, every effort is being made to minimise disruption to our customers and to retain the knowhow of all the employees involved.”

Eriks’ nine core competences are: Bearings & lubrication; drives & power transmissions; seals & polymers; gaskets; valves; industrial hose; fluid power; tools & maintenance; and engineering & site services.
