Kawasaki UK distribution centre expands with Advanced Component Technology

01 December, 2015

Advanced Component Technology Ltd. has invested in its site to expand its Kawasaki hydraulics distribution centre.

After a successful launch in 2013, the company has invested a further £250,000 into its distribution centre including a state-of-the-art space-saving, slim-line shelving system and bespoke forklift truck which can navigate the tight spaces between shelves.

The distribution centre is now home to £500,000 of Kawasaki products to distribute to the hydraulic system and machinery manufacturers from its purpose-built West Yorkshire base.

 Showcase

Opened on 16 November by Yorkshire MP Kris Hopkins and KawasakiÕs European sales director Scott Ikuma, the ACT team held the event to showcase the new facilities.

In attendance were a number of customers, suppliers and other local partners sharing in the ongoing success and expansion within the company.

Ikuma commented: "Kawasaki Precision Machinery (KPM) was very pleased to appoint Advanced Component Technology (ACT) as our hub distributor for the UK in 2013 and the new site will show that we will continue to grow together and expand into new markets.Ó

Targeting new and current markets

Advanced Component Technology director Stephen Lund said the investment shows the companyÕs commitment to Kawasaki and is testament of their ongoing success. The site expansion allows ACT to target new and current markets; including power generation, renewable energy, offshore and marine.

Lund added: ÒOur relationship with Kawasaki has gone from strength to strength and is an integral part of our business. We have invested in the new site to house more Kawasaki products to support the UK. We are already seeing new business opportunities as a result of the investment.Ó
