desiccant heat regenerative compressed air dryers. These new dryers are approved on the UK Government’s ETL (Energy Technology List), which means they are recognised as providing significant energy savings and also allow customers who purchase these to claim an enhanced capital allowance (tax break). Mikropor comments that it is the only dryer manufacturer to have a desiccant dryer range on the ETL list. The ETL scheme is run by HM Government’s Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and is managed by the Carbon Trust. Mikropor’s MBP & MCY ETL approved dryers are in the top 25% of energy saving dryers, which is the benchmark criteria to have equipment included in the ETL. Also on show will be Mikropor’s new Nitrogen Purification System (Deoxo), which is claimed to reduce compressed air loss (and therefore uses less energy) by using a standard PSA (Pressure Swing Adsorption) Nitrogen generator at a lower purity (99.5%) and then refining the Nitrogen to deliver 99.999% purity by means of a catalytic reaction. Mikropor states that this solution is ideal for companies who need 99.999% pure Nitrogen and want to reduce the compressed air lost to generate this high level of purity.

SCR Air

SCR Air will be exhibiting at Air-Tech for the third consecutive time. This year will see the company taking its largest stand to date. With energy efficiency still at the forefront of SCR’s design, the company will be exhibiting its core ‘EPM’ range of permanent magnet compressors featuring oversized air ends with a low rotational speed. This means the same airflow can be generated by a machine typically one size smaller than a standard compressor. With Japanese company Anest Iwata now the majority shareholder, SCR Air will also be exhibiting its range of oil-free scroll compressors as it introduces them as part of its core range. Anest Iwata first launched the scroll air
