Pushing the efficiency envelope

13 April, 2017

Because of its excellent internal sealing, this oil-free compressor technology can operate at a lower rotational speed, improving reliability as well as efficiency. Therefore, the myriad benefits include longer bearing and machine life, and considerably reduced maintenance costs.

It is also easy to integrate into systems, and scale up or down. The design is simple – with no advanced materials or complex parts – so it is more durable and easy to manufacture.

Lontra’s long-term partnership with manufacturer Shield Group means the time to market regarding our blade compressors for our licensees and partners has also been significantly shortened and we are already engaging with large end users to work with us to become early adopters of the technology in their markets. End users will see the lower energy demand of the compressor as soon as it is switched on, with ROI modelled over an average of less than three years, dependent on usage.

Lontra is currently focusing its efforts around pneumatic conveying, and the development of new EU regulations for energy reduction is expected to make the efficiency of air compressors a key decision-making factor for equipment purchasers.

Regulatory compliance

Now is a critical time for bulk handling firms in the cement industry and beyond to explore the benefits of blade technology. Taking action on this issue will not only enable companies to successfully meet EU regulations, but will also allow them to adopt a more sustainable and energy efficient way of operating their conveying in the future.
