MR Air Force takes delivery of order for over 40 New Doosan large compressors (Nov 2011)

22 November, 2011

MR Air Force, part of Machinery Resale bvba, based at Deinze in Belgium, has taken delivery of over 40 new large portable air compressors from Doosan Infracore Portable Power. MR Air Force is not a rental company, but is using the compressors to form part of a new service that helps business partners such as rental companies, dealers and agents to set up and run specialised, long term rental programmes for large portable compressors.

At the handover of the new Doosan compressors, Nick Verbeek, director of Doosan Portable Power Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), was joined by Filip Maes and Henk Uphoff, owner and managing director, respectively, of MR Air Force and Machinery Resale. Nick Verbeek said: “We are delighted to win this order from MR Air Force, which forms part of an innovative new approach to the international compressor market.”

‘A’ standard
Henk Uphoff commented: “We are aiming our new service at countries in the EU and we chose Doosan Portable Power because the machines are well-known in the market and form the ‘A’ standard in compressors worldwide. Parts are very accessible within the EU and the machines keep their value even after several years in the rental market.”
The new order delivered to MR Air Force includes 21/215 compressors equipped with aftercooler and dual pressure options and 12/235 and 9/270 compressors equipped with aftercoolers. All the new compressors are powered by the Cummins 6IRQ9AE diesel engine and feature remote machine monitoring.

Henk Uphoff added: “Close contacts between Machinery Resale and Doosan Portable Power and a mutual understanding of each other’s businesses were crucial to closing this large deal for 41 compressors (with an option for 60).”
He continued: “Both myself and company owner, Filip Maes, have more than 25 years of experience in the compressor field. We are very excited with the new investment in Doosan compressors which represents a significant expansion at Machinery Resale and complements our extensive used equipment business. We see ourselves as a ‘facilitator’ – a services supplier to all key compressor players with a need for renting out large and high pressure units and we can offer a range of flexible packages to suit different requirements.”
The flexible packages available from MR Air Force include the Re-Rent, Fix-Rent and Flex-Rent programmes, all of which are claimed to be characterised by:

·         Competitive costs – cheaper than leasing.
·         6-36 month programmes.
·         Off balance sheet.
·         Zero investment by the customer.
·         No residual value risks.
·         Remote machine monitoring.

The Doosan 21/215 compressor provides a free air delivery of 21.5 m3/min at a rated operating pressure of 21.0 bar. The dual pressure option allows the compressor to offer air at pressures of 21.0 and 12.0 bar. The 12/235 model has a free air delivery of 23.5 m3/min at 12.0 bar, while the 9/270 compressor offers 27.0 m3/min of compressed air at 8.6 bar.
The range of free air deliveries and pressures offered by the new Doosan compressors covers a wide range of applications from road repair and demolition to more specialist uses including quarry drilling, abrasive blasting, spray painting, optical fibre blowing, standby and temporary compressed air for industry and pipeline testing and commissioning.
