LAMMA 2025: Discover the future of agriculture

08 January, 2025

The LAMMA Show, the UK’s largest agricultural machinery, equipment, and technology event, returns to Birmingham’s NEC between the 15 -16 January 2025. This flagship show, widely regarded as a cornerstone of the UK agricultural calendar, is expected to attract over 40,000 farmers, contractors, and industry experts.

LAMMA 2025 offers attendees the opportunity to experience the latest in farm machinery, explore pioneering technologies, and connect with the industry’s leading innovators. H&P reports.

Featuring more than 600 exhibitors under one roof, LAMMA 2025 delivers a comprehensive showcase of cutting-edge equipment, from tractors and combines to arable and grassland machinery. The diversity of exhibits reflects LAMMA’s commitment to addressing the varied needs of all agricultural sectors, whether arable, dairy, livestock, or mixed farming. This year’s exhibition promises to introduce brand-new machinery and technologies aimed at improving productivity, efficiency, and sustainability, which are vital to the modern farming landscape. The event also provides visitors the rare chance to see exclusive UK debuts and product launches, offering insights into equipment that may soon transform the way farmers operate.

Innovations and new ideas

LAMMA has long been known as a hub for agricultural innovation, and 2025 will be no exception. Visitors can expect to find the latest products from global brands alongside innovations from smaller, niche manufacturers based in the UK. This inclusive approach ensures that attendees are exposed to a wide variety of technologies, tools, and price points, making it easier for farms of all sizes and budgets to discover solutions that best meet their needs.

Beyond machinery, attendees can also explore the latest agricultural technologies and digital solutions geared towards precision farming, data management, and sustainability. This includes everything from GPS-enabled equipment and autonomous machinery to the latest advancements in farm management software. With agriculture increasingly relying on data-driven decisions, LAMMA provides an ideal platform for farmers to learn more about these technologies and understand how they might be practically applied on their farms

Celebrating industry excellence: The LAMMA Innovation Awards

A central feature of the show is the LAMMA Innovation Awards. These awards honour companies and individuals who have demonstrated outstanding innovation and technical advancement within the agricultural sector. The awards celebrate forward-thinking solutions that have the potential to redefine agricultural practices, from advanced machinery to environmental solutions and digital farming tools. Attendees can look forward to an inspiring showcase of the entries, which are set to spark ideas and fuel discussions about the future of farming.

Nurturing young talent: The Young Engineer Award

Another highlight of the LAMMA 2025 schedule is the return of the Young Engineer Award, a prestigious recognition aimed at championing the next generation of agricultural engineers. Open to individuals or teams aged 16 to 35, this award acknowledges young engineers who have designed, modified, or developed machinery, equipment, or technology that significantly enhances on-farm efficiency, productivity, or sustainability. Eligible entries span a range of stages, from fully manufactured products to early-stage concepts and prototypes, reflecting the award’s commitment to nurturing creativity and problem-solving within the industry. Last year’s winner, Ieuan Evans, was celebrated for his work on the Smart Slurry Pump, which he initially developed as a student at Harper Adams University and later refined at Storth Machinery. Evans shared that receiving this recognition not only validated his hard work but also propelled his career, underlining the award’s role in supporting emerging talent.
