FS-Elliott and Lupamat Compressor enter into partnership agreement

FS-Elliott has been producing centrifugal air compressors since 1962, and Lupamat Compressor has over 60 years’ experience in the industrial applications in Turkey.

Low cost of ownership

FS-Elliott’s industrial air compressor series combines over 60 years of operational and design knowhow in what the company describes as a reliable, energy-efficient and cost-effective package. The compressors suit a broad range of applications, with models ranging from 250 hp to 3000 hp in two and three-stage configurations that deliver up to 150 psig (10.5 barg) discharge pressure.

Oil-free advantage

Certified to deliver ISO 8573-1 Class 0, 100% oil-free air, FS-Elliott air compressors are suitable for industries such as food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, electronics, automotive and others that require unpolluted environments.

Benefits of using oil-free air in the manufacturing process can include the elimination of contamination throughout the plant. This can result in prolonged equipment life, lowered downstream filtration requirements and pressure drops.

Fewer maintenance requirements

Centrifugal compressors do not rely on wearing surfaces to create compression, leading to longer lasting bearings and other rotating components. The number of extra components such as oil and filters are drastically reduced saving material and labour costs. FS-Elliott air compressors take maintenance-friendly operation a step further by offering a horizontally split gear case, allowing full access to the gearbox in the field and avoiding costly downtime.

Lupamat background

Lupamat started production in 1968 and has been a major developer in the compressed air industry for over 54 years of the 70-year-old Dirinler Industrial Group. Lupamat maintains that it has made major progress in quality due in part to the cooperation with other companies within the group. Within the group is Dirinler Makina, established in 1952 for eccentric-hydraulic press production. Dirinler Sanayi Makinaları produces CNC lathes, CNC double machining centres and multipurpose and customised CNC machines, and Dirinler Döküm carries out cast-iron production, 80% of which is aimed at export for the wind energy sector.

With its R&D centre established in July 2018, Lupamat, which is also constantly proactive at the point of new product development, has produced 20-bar oil-free CO2 compressors developed specifically for food and beverage facilities for the first time in Turkey and has started selling the product to the domestic market and to the foreign market.

FS-Elliott background

For over 60 years, FS-Elliott has manufactured air and gas compressors that incorporate the latest aerodynamic and control system technologies. The company claims to have developed the first oil-free, integrally geared, multi-stage, centrifugal air compressor in 1962. This development, it states, grew into the PAP Plus product line that the company continues to sell and manufacture today.

In the late 1990s, FS-Elliott formed a joint venture with longtime partner, Fusheng Industrial Co. Ltd., to build a packaging facility in Shanghai, China. This resulted in the PAP Plus product line becoming established in the China market. Fusheng, a multi-faceted manufacturer of reciprocating and screwtype compressors for air and refrigeration applications, is a privately held company based in Taipei, Taiwan.

In October of 2003, Fusheng acquired the PAP Plus product line, creating FSElliott Co., LLC. In 2005, FS-Elliott purchased two facilities in Export, Pennsylvania US to establish an independent headquarters for compressor design, manufacturing, and service. Several new state-of-the-art machine tools were installed, and a new test facility was constructed to modernise processes for improving quality and reducing costs. Today, FS-Elliott focuses on producing reliable and energy-efficient air solutions.
