International Women in Engineering Day celebrates its 8th year
Today (23 June) is International Women in Engineering Day. The Women’s Engineering Society’s (WES) international awareness campaign, INWED – now in its 8th year – was established to raise the profile of women in engineering and focus more attention on the attractive and diverse career opportunities that are available to women and girls in this industry.
Although this year continues to suffer restrictions related to the pandemic – resulting in less face-to-face interaction – the campaign nevertheless aims to reach as many people as possible. WES encourages people in as many countries as possible to be involved in the celebrations, appreciating the contribution women engineers make.
