Transatlantic golfing challenge

01 November, 2018

The original trophy was a single cup on a wooden base. Over the years, the trophy has been expanded three times to accommodate all of the tournament locations and winners’ names. The first expansion was made by Ray Worrell of Dynex/Rivett Hydraulics in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The second and third expansions were made by David Thun of Power Systems in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Today, the trophy resembles the National Hockey League’s Stanley Cup Trophy with its different storeys. The captain of the most recent winning team is custodian of the cup until the next event. It is his responsibility to have the trophy updated and ensure its safety until the TFPGS reconvenes once again to renew its international rivalry of competition and friendship.
