Machinery Directive Harmonised Standards revised list published
 
A revised list of Machinery Directive Harmonised Standards was published in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJ) on 15 November 2012. These Harmonised standards provide a presumption of conformity to the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC. The latest complete list can be downloaded from the European Commission website.
This new list of standards harmonised to the Machinery Directive supersedes all previous versions and has legal standing, unlike the lists published on the European Commission website that are only 'informative'. The information below has been extracted with care from the official list, but it remains the reader's responsibility to check the OJ list via the link above, and also to check the Machinery Directive page on the European Commission website for any newer lists.
New and updated harmonised standards and amendments published in the list for the first time are as below.
·         EN 848-1:2007+A2:2012 Safety of woodworking machines - One side moulding machines with rotating tool - Part 1: Single spindle vertical moulding machines, which supersedes EN 848-1:2007+A1:2009 on 31 March 2013
 
·         EN 848-2:2007+A2:2012 Safety of woodworking machines - One side moulding machines with rotating tool - Part 2: Single spindle hand fed/integrated fed routing machines, which supersedes EN 848-2:2007+A1:2009 on 31 March 2013
 
·         EN 1034-17:2012 Safety of machinery - Safety requirements for the design and construction of paper making and finishing machines - Part 17: Tissue making machines
 
·         EN 1034-21:2012 Safety of machinery - Safety requirements for the design and construction of paper making and finishing machines - Part 21: Coating machines
 
·         EN 1034-27:2012 Safety of machinery - Safety requirements for the design and construction of paper making and finishing machines - Part 27: Roll handling systems
 
·         EN 1870-5:2002+A2:2012 Safety of woodworking machines - Circular sawing machines - Part 5: Circular saw benches/up-cutting cross-cut sawing machines, which supersedes EN 1870-5:2002+A1:2009 on 31 March 2013
 
·         EN 1870-9:2012 Safety of woodworking machines - Circular sawing machines - Part 9: Double blade circular sawing machines for cross-cutting with integrated feed and with manual loading and/or unloading, which supersedes EN 1870-9:2000+A1:2009 on 31 March 2013
 
·         EN ISO 11148-7:2012 Hand-held non-electric power tools - Safety requirements - Part 7: Grinders (ISO 11148-7:2012), which supersedes EN 792-7:2001+A1:2008 on 28 February 2013
 
·         EN 12001:2012 Conveying, spraying and placing machines for concrete and mortar - Safety requirements, which supersedes EN 12001:2003+A1:2009 on 28 February 2013
 
·         EN ISO 19432:2012 Building construction machinery and equipment – Portable, hand-held, internal combustion engine driven cut-off machines - Safety requirements (ISO 19432:2012), which supersedes EN ISO 19432:2008 on 31 March 2013
 
·         EN ISO 20643:2008/A1:2012 Amendment to EN ISO 20643:2008 Mechanical vibration - Hand-held and hand-guided machinery - Principles for evaluation of vibration emission (ISO 20643:2005), which supersedes the un-amended standard on 31 March 2013
 
·         EN 60335-2-67:2012 Household and similar electrical appliances - Safety - Part 2-67: Particular requirements for floor treatment machines for commercial use (IEC 60335-2-67:2012 (Modified)), which supersedes EN 60335-2-67:2009 on 3 May 2015
 
·         EN 60335-2-68:2012 Household and similar electrical appliances - Safety - Part 2-68: Particular requirements for spray extraction machines, for commercial use (IEC 60335-2-68:2012 (Modified)), which supersedes EN 60335-2-68:2009 on 3 May 2015
 
·         EN 60335-2-69:2012 Household and similar electrical appliances - Safety - Part 2-69: Particular requirements for wet and dry vacuum cleaners, including power brush for commercial use (IEC 60335-2-69:2012 (Modified)), which supersedes EN 60335-2-69:2009 on 28 March 2015
 
·         EN 60335-2-72:2012 Household and similar electrical appliances - Safety - Part 2-72: Particular requirements for floor treatment machines with or without traction drive, for commercial use (IEC 60335-2-72:2012 (Modified)), which supersedes EN 60335-2-72:2009 on 3 May 2015
