Hansa-Flex acquires Springbok Connections

22 March, 2017

Hansa-Flex, a leading European fluid technology system partner, has expanded its capabilities with the acquisition of Springbok Connections Ltd. based in London Heathrow. Springbok Connections specialises in hydraulic and industrial connections and repairs, with a focus on GSE (Ground Support Equipment) at UK airports.

Hansa-Flex, and its newly acquired subsidiary, develops solutions in the field of hydraulic and pneumatic drive and control technology. The company also offers services such as its Mobile Service, cylinder repair, specialist Industry Service teams and efficient concepts for OEM customers.

The wide range of products and services, coupled with a high level of availability and close proximity to customers make Hansa-Flex a successful partner for companies in all industries. The company has over 400 subsidiaries in 40 countries, with over 280 response vehicles and 3500-plus employees forming a tightly meshed service network.

Hansa-Flex has been active in the UK since the beginning of 2016. First formed as a one-man operation in London, Hansa-Flex Hydraulics UK Ltd is set to grow in 2017: by the acquisition of a market competitor, seven employees in four Rapid Hydraulic Service vehicles will be looking after our customers in the UK from now on. They are controlled by the depot manager Mark Bristow from the subsidiary’s headquarters in London.

With the takeover of Springbok Connections in January, the one-man subsidiary has multiplied its earlier capabilities: “We used to serve the London region with just one service vehicle, now we run four vehicles and can significantly extend our radius of operation,” said Hansa-Flex’s managing director, Gerhard Sturm.

The Rapid Hydraulic Service – Hansa-Flex’s service fleet – operates around the clock and offers a fully equipped workshop with all the required spare parts on board.

Sturm already has experience managing Hansa-Flex international subsidiaries. During his 16 years with the company, he successfully headed up the Hansa-Flex United Arab Emirates subsidiaries for six years before moving to the UK at the start of 2014 to prepare for Hansa-Flex’s UK market entry.

“We will have even more manpower and knowhow available for satisfying our customers’ hydraulic and pneumatic requirements in 2017,” concluded Sturm.
