Mattei presents products and prototypes at The Energy Event

28 August, 2015

Rotary vane compressor manufacturer, Mattei, will be displaying a selection of energy efficient compressed air solutions, including new products and some prototypes being launched in the near future, on Stand D01 at The Energy Event 2015.

Taking place at the NEC on 15 to 16 September, visitors to the Mattei stand will have the opportunity to discuss several of Mattei’s high-quality air compressors, including the ultra-high performance Maxima Xtreme prototype. With a redesigned compression unit and oil injection system, plus the 1:1 ratio between the low rotational speed of the electric motor and the compression unit (just 1000 rpm), the Maxima Xtreme guarantees unrivalled ultra-high performance and efficiency at just 5.2kW/m³/min.

Attendees will also have the chance to inspect Mattei’s energy saving Xpander prototype, which converts waste heat into electrical energy. Designed to work with air compressors of 50-100kW, the Xpander recovers heat from hot compressor oil, which is ordinarily cooled by a fan, and converts it into electrical power. It can produce 3kWe, which can be fed back into the compressor. When the Xpander is cooling the oil, the compressor’s normal fan cooling system can be turned off, saving a further 2kW. The overall reduction in the specific energy efficiency of the compressor is around 6 per cent.

Mattei representatives will be available throughout the exhibition to discuss compressor and control products, and will provide advice on how to improve energy efficiency and keep carbon emissions to a minimum.

Andy Jones, managing director at Mattei, said: “The Mattei team are looking forward to speaking with existing and potential customers at the exhibition. We hope to provide visitors to the stand with a deeper understanding of our products, and to demonstrate why they have such a strong reputation for quality and energy efficiency. We believe that the combined lower maintenance costs and higher energy efficiency of our compressors means they offer the lowest total cost of ownership on the market today, and we will be communicating this during the show.

“The Maxima Xtreme and Xpander are particularly exciting developments for us, typifying our commitment to improving the energy efficiency of compressed air systems. It’s great to have an opportunity to present them at the show.”
