Improving & Measuring Hydraulic Cleanliness

30 June, 2015

MP Filtri hosted a seminar at Aberdeen Football Club on 20 May on the subject of how to improve and measure hydraulic cleanliness within hydraulic & lubrication systems.

Aimed specifically at the oil and gas market, MP Filtri presented a fully interactive and comprehensive training programme covering all aspects of fluid cleanliness.

The seminar included topics such as:

• Understanding the Standards – From NAS to SAE AS 4059 and beyond.

• Understanding Particles & Sources of Contamination - Mechanisms of wear in hydraulic and lube systems.

• Measuring Fluid Cleanliness & Contamination Monitoring Products – Bottle and lab analysis- advantages and disadvantages.

• Technical presentations of the MP Filtri range of Contamination Monitoring Products – LPA2/CML2/ICM/Software.

• Filtration Technology – Selecting a filter and understanding hydraulic filter micron ratings and beta ratios.

• A Customer View – An insight into experiences of applying these cleanliness and monitoring methods and the benefits achieved.

During the course of the day, delegates had a chance to network, have hands-on experience with the range of MP Filtri contamination monitoring products and view an exhibition of their comprehensive range of filtration equipment.

The seminar was exceptionally well attended with approximately 70 delegates.

Phil Keep, MP Filtri UK MD commented: “This is the first seminar we have conducted dedicated specifically to the oil and gas market and the first we’ve hosted in Scotland. We are really overwhelmed with the positive response and attendance, especially in current climates. The whole day has been extremely successful, with delegates contributing throughout the day to the seminar and we have had really great feedback from people saying how much they enjoyed the presentations and found the content very informative and extremely relevant. We will definitely return to Scotland again to host another seminar here.”

MP Filtri will be hosting another, even bigger seminar in October at the National Fluid Power Centre, Worksop. This seminar is aimed at hydraulic system design engineers, mobile, industrial, and power pack manufacturers, again to give a better insight to system cleanliness and best practice within the work-place.
