Sunfab and Hawe combine forces

21 April, 2011

Hudiksvall-based Sunfab Hydraulics AB and Munich-based Hawe Hydraulik SE have signed an agreement to cooperate in developing and marketing hydraulic pumps and motors worldwide. Sunfab was founded in Hudiksvall, Sweden, more than 80 years ago and started to produce hydraulic pumps in the 1950s, initially to cover an internal need for pumps in truck-mounted loader cranes. Since then Sunfab has gained a position as a leading supplier of fixed displacement hydraulic pumps.

Sunfab Sales and Services are located in more than 60 countries, while its headquarters remain in Hudiksvall. Hawe Hydraulik has equally long experience in hydraulic applications. The company, originally known as Heilmeier und Weinlein Fabrik für Oel-Hydraulik GmbH & Co. KG, was founded in Munich in 1949.
The business idea was to create tailor-made hydraulic solutions for every application and need. Today the product range consists of constant and variable displacement pumps, power packs, valves, sensors and electronic components.

Valuable knowhow
For some time Sunfab and Hawe have cooperated in the field of variable displacement pumps for load-sensing systems in mobile applications. The new agreement forms the basis for intensifying this cooperation. The companies comment that Sunfab's knowledge of hydraulic pumps and motors with fixed displacement will strengthen Hawe’s competitive edge. They add that Hawe's expertise in load sensing pumps with variable displacement will provide Sunfab with valuable knowhow in this field.
From now on cooperation will cover all areas, from research and development to marketing and sales. “We will have a fantastic partner in Hawe,” said Lars Mörk, MD at Sunfab. “Our knowledge and markets are a perfect match”. Karl Haeusgen, CEO at Hawe, added: “The cooperation with Sunfab will suit us perfectly as we gain access to a series of state-of-the art pumps and motors, which will strengthen our position globally. Hawe and Sunfab have already agreed upon mutual development projects that will make both companies stronger.”
