Jubilee Clips installed on the roof of Rugby World Cup venue (Oct 2011)

22 November, 2011

L Robinson & Co. (Gillingham), manufacturer of Jubilee hose clip has, via Auto Agencies, the company’s distributor in Christchurch, New Zealand, recently fulfilled a contract to supply a batch of its High Torque clips to contractors constructing and installing the roof on the new Forsyth Barr Stadium in Dunedin, New Zealand – a venue for the 2011 Rugby World Cup.

The clips, 208 in total, were air-freighted out to New Zealand in July 2011in double-quick time to meet the tight construction deadlines and to ensure the project was signed off and handed over prior to the stadium’s 5 August opening ceremony.

Dave Jennings, managing director of Auto Agencies, said: “Being involved in such a high-profile project is great news for us and is testament to the solid reputation, built on high-performance and value that Jubilee Clips enjoy throughout the world.”

Jubilee ‘High Torque’ clips were specified for the project from the start. Performance characteristics and attributes that include durability, strength and resistance to corrosion were particular advantages that the stainless steel High Torque Jubilee Clips had over other competitor products and were the major reasons why the order was placed.

Ian Jennings, managing director of L Robinson & Co. (Gillingham), commented: “Jubilee Clips are ubiquitous and the High Torque clips, now being used on the Forsyth Barr Stadium’s roof, are popular and are always in demand. Our High Torque clips are part of an extensive product range (over 580 different product types) we offer to customers and all our products are manufactured to the same exacting quality standards.”

Jubilee High Torque Clips are available in variety of working diameter sizes (20/35-mm being the smallest going up to 470/500-mm at the top end of the scale). Owing to their design and construction, the clips are claimed to provide users with twice the tightening torque of standard worm drive hose clips, which in turn results in double the band tension
